With the great efforts of the tourism private sector, and the support of the Qeshm free zone, we have taken yet another step towards introducing and evoking admiration for the beautiful Qeshm Island.

The coordination meeting for tourism development and joint tours between Qeshm and Kish free zones and Iraq was hosted and held by the Qeshm Free Zone Organization.

According to the PR and International Affairs department of the Qeshm Free Zone Organization and Fars News, the coordination meeting for tourism development between Qeshm and Kish free zones and Iraq was held in the management office of the organization with the presence of Alireza Amri Kazemi, head of the cultural heritage, tourism and handicrafts of the organization and representatives of the Kish free zone and the country of Iraq.

Exploring potential approaches for increasing tourist flows from Iraq especially in regards to post-Covid tourism in the southern islands and introducing potential capacities for medical tourism and the health of Qeshm Island were among of the main topics discussed in the meeting.

Another important topic explored in the meeting was the potential utilization of the capacity of the three Arvand, Kish and Qeshm free zones for transit and hosting Iraqi tourists and facilitating these trips considering the regulations specific to the country’s free zones.

Also discussed in the meeting was the establishment of the sea route between the islands of Qeshm and Kish for the easier commute of tourists between the two islands and holding joint tours with the participation of the two islands and the approaches for attracting investors interested in tourism.

It is worthy of note that Alireza Amri Kazemi, head of Cultural heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts and Ali Movaqar, head of the tourism department of the Qeshm Free Zone Organization, head of the Sabaye Homa agency in Kish, representative of the Al-Ihsan Al-Muttahida in Iran, a member of the Travel and Tourism companies Council in Iraq, the CEO of the Al-Ihsan Al-Muttahida Basra Airline and Travel Agency and companies active in the private tourism sector of the island (Avina Hotel and Flamingo Travel Agency) were also present in the meeting.
